Last Updated: September 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SafeHome Handywoman collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the SafeHome Inspection mobile application (available on Android) and the SafeHome Inspection web application (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information. When you register for an account, we collect your name and email address. Your password is stored only as a cryptographically hashed value; we do not have access to your plain-text password.
1.2 Property Information. When you add a home to inspect, we collect the property address and the details you provide about the property (for example, property type, age, condition, and other descriptive information).
1.3 Inspection Content. We collect and store the content you create or upload while using the Services, including photos and videos of properties, inspection reports, and notes.
1.4 Information Collected Automatically. When you access or use the Services, we and our analytics providers automatically collect certain technical information, including: device type and model; operating system and app version; unique identifiers associated with your device or app installation (such as a Firebase installation ID); screens and features viewed and used; session length; and aggregated usage statistics. We collect this information using Firebase and Google Analytics.
1.5 Information We Do Not Collect. The Services do not collect your precise (GPS) location, payment card details, or personal information from children under 13.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
Store, display, and organize your property records, inspection photos and videos, reports, and notes.
Operate, maintain, and improve the Services, including diagnosing bugs and measuring performance through analytics.
Respond to your requests, questions, and support needs.
Send service-related communications, such as confirmations, security alerts, and important updates (you may opt out of optional messages).
Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We use Google LLC's Firebase and Google Analytics products to host data and measure app usage. These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy policies and terms.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
With your consent. We may share information when you direct or authorize us to.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your information is stored on cloud servers in the United States. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit using TLS, encryption of stored data, and hashing of passwords. However, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
5. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your account information, property records, and inspection content within [e.g., 30] days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as backup archives, which are deleted on a rolling basis).
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion. You may access, update, or delete your information at any time by using the settings features in the Services or by contacting us at SafeHomeHandywoman@gmail.com.
6.2 State Privacy Rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states), which may include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion or correction, and the right to receive a copy of your data. These laws generally apply to businesses above certain size thresholds; we describe your options here regardless. To exercise a right, contact us at SafeHomeHandywoman@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
6.3 Analytics Choices. You can limit certain analytics collection through your device settings (such as limiting ad tracking or resetting advertising identifiers). For more information about Google Analytics and your choices, see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at SafeHomeHandywoman@gmail.com.
8. Third-Party Services
Our Services rely on third-party products such as Firebase and Google Analytics. Those products collect and process information under Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Information about how Firebase uses data is available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
